3rd Place at NYCairo

Ashley Rhianne was very proud and honoured to be selected as a finalist in the NYCairo Queen Competition in April 2017 where she won 3rd place in the finals! A huge thank you to the judges – Anna Borisova, Vanessa, Nada el Masriya, Dr. Gamal Seif, Tito Seif, Mohamed Shahin and Randa Kamel for this opportunity! All the of the competitors were amazing and Ashley is very humbled to have been selected to compete in the final round.

Sahar Samara Gala Show

Rising Egyptian Superstar Sahar Samara is coming to Toronto, Canada May 2017!  This stunning beauty was officially discovered on the oriental dance tv show Al Rakasa and won 3rd place. Ever since, she has been lighting up stages both in Cairo and internationally.  This is her first time to Canada and Ashley Rhianne is very excited to train with Sahar!  Ashley Rhianne will also be performing in the gala show held at the Alliance Francais Theatre.  For workshop and show details, please check out Ya Amar’s website!

 

 

Molotov Caravan 6

IT’S BAAAAAACK!  Scarlet Lux’s MOLOTOV CARAVAN is celebrating its 6 year of entertainment magic and Ashley Rhianne is very happy to be a part of this crazy adventure yet again this year!  Come and check out the sword swallowing, burlesque’ing, comedic interludes, circus tricks and Middle Eastern dance!  Held at the Rickshaw Theatre in Vancouver, this is one show that sells out weeks early so get your ticket in advance!

Saturday May 13 2017  Doors 7pm.  Tickets $20 in advance, $25 at the door.

NYCairo

Ashley Rhianne is going back to NYCairo in April to perform, train and compete.  She will be performing on Thursday April 20 and competing on Friday April 21.  She is very excited to train with her mentors Randa Kamel, Tito Seif & Mohamed Shahin and also study with Anna Borisova and Vanessa!  It will also mark her 3rd time at NYCairo which is an amazing event – if you ever want to attend a festival in North America, this one comes highly recommended!

New Beginner Class in Richmond

Ashley Rhianne is pleased to offer a new beginner dance class in Richmond!

Classes will start March 25 from 11:30am-1pm.

Session One: March 25  – April 29  (sub teacher April 22)

Session Two: May 6– June 24 (no class May 20)

Pay for both sessions together and save 10%

Classes will cover technique, combinations, rhythms and choreography.

Small Stages Salon Series – Volume 4 & 5

ashley-dance-small-stage-2016Ashley will be performing in the DFASS Salon Series  Volume 4 + 5 Incubator Project 24 November +1 December, 2016 at The Emerald Supper Club.

DFASS continue to new works with a unique range of dancers and musicians who are experimenting with new ideas and forms of technology to inspire innovative work. This unique group of artists will electrify audiences beyond the constraints of the physical venue.

This project comes from a need to invest in artists and their creative practice. It’s about building space for risk, while focusing on shared learning experiences. It builds on unique opportunities and challenges diverse dance artists who are interested in growing their work in new and exciting ways.

Third Place Winner in Toronto, 2016

Ashley-Dance-Randa-Kamel-3rd-Place-2016Ashley is thrilled to announce that she was the 3rd place winner in the Randa Kamel & Mohamed Shahin Crown Competition on October 29, 2016 in Toronto.  Ashley placed 3 out of 11 dancers.  A huge congrats to Oksana Jirnova who won 2nd Place and Monet Deneen who won the Crown!  Ashley thanks the judges Dr. George Sawa, Mohamed Shahin and Randa Kamel for their selection, Nada el Masriya for her hard work putting the event together and all the fellow dancers and competitors – everyone was very supportive and encouraging!

Small Stages 34 – October 13 – 16 2016

ashley-dance-small-stage-2016Ashley will be performing in the Small Stages 34 season kick off October 13 – 16, 2016 at The Anza Club in Vancouver.  She will be performing a piece titled “Taboo”  with Vancouver’s legendary burlesque artist Burgundy Brixx and percussionist Jason Ovary, exploring the origins, crossovers, comparison, taboos and stereotypes of Oriental and Burlesque.
